Happy New Year 2010

We're starting out the year 2010 in an interesting way.... Bert left for Florida on January 10 (the day after his birthday) for several weeks. He's working on a naval base in Jacksonville. Bert and 3 other guys from the company drove down in their company vehicles - a 12 hour drive.

They're installing a shooting range (8 lanes). Bert told the story about one of the navy men walking through the new area, just smiling away, commenting that he can't wait to have one of his men upset him -- who will be put in charge of polishing the diamond plate metal!! Wow. I'd hate to be put in that position!

The company Christmas party was Saturday, and so the guys in Florida boarded a jet plane for a weekend at home. The weekend went W-A-Y too fast and they're already on their way back. Here's a picture of Daddy with silly Hunter before Daddy left for the airport. :-)

Mommy - with her Vikings jersey, and Hunter - with his iguana from Daddy (present from Florida).

Before Daddy left for Florida, he told Hunter that if he misses him, just give the iguana a big hug. I'm thinking the iguana will be flat by the time we see Daddy! :-0
The silver lining of this whole thing is that Hunter and Mommy will fly down to spend a long weekend with Daddy at the end of January. It will be Hunter's first airplane ride! In the meantime, we're moving up in the world and getting rid of dial-up, so we can (hopefully) Skype with Daddy. And then Daddy is expected be home by the first weekend in February, as long as things go as planned...
